Irish given credit for Californian UFO video

The popular British tabloid, The Sun, posted a UFO video purportedly from Dublin, Ireland that has managed to hit mainstream media here in the US.  However, the true history of the startling footage lies in Fremont, CA.

Original video

The video is a greenish hue and shows a triangular formation of lights cruising through the night sky.  It flies in an arc, and can be seen above the city lights.  Although the Sun proclaims it is a new video, it was originally posted on YouTube on December 5th, 2008.  The person claiming responsibility for the video has said the green hue is due to the fact that the video was taken with a night vision system that could also pickup infrared light.  In fact he says that although the object looks bright compared to the stars and other objects, it could not be seen by the naked eye.

The Sun may have gotten the location of the video wrong because of a previous YouTube UFO video that gained popularity last year, which was supposedly from Dublin, Ireland.  This video showed an object with lights in a triangular formation beaming a laser out of one end.  It was a dramatic video, but as is often the case with exciting videos like these, it turned out to be a fake.  It was later revealed that the video was created as part of a contest to create fake UFO videos at UFOContest.com.  The video won first place.

UFOs being filmed with night vision device recently gained popularity amongst UFO researchers, largely due to the efforts of Ed Grimsley.  He claims to have been seeing UFOs battling in the night skies above California since he was a kid.  Now, with the aid of military grade night vision devices he films these strange craft, and even takes people out to the desert to see for themselves.

At the Mutual UFO Network’s 2008 annual symposium in San Jose California, Grimsley took Coast to Coast AM’s radio host George Noory out to skywatch with the night vision goggles.  Noory covered the event on his show. He and other MUFON attendees were amazed by what they saw.

The Fremont video is now making the rounds of US media.  FOX News covered the story, and MSNBC interviewed Nick Pope about the video.  Pope investigated UFOs for the British Ministry of Defence, and said on MSNBC that it is one of the most interesting UFO videos he has ever seen.

We will continue to investigate this video and fill you in with our findings.  However, with the growing number of UFO videos using night vision technologies, hopefully more people will be inspired to monitor the night skies.  Let us know what you find.

I thought the UFO was filmed in Fremont? === Also earlier last year the Sun posted a vid of presumably a TR3B Astra, or at least thats what it looks like to me….except the video was made by a computer games technician….??….b…. my video of “The Suns” video = http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RFj8ahtmNXs = “BRISTOL TR3B ASTRA Terrified Andy Hadlington witnessed the mysterious triangular-shaped object silently hovering above a residential neighbourhood in the West Country city on Sunday evening.

The video shows the spinning grey object gliding around the village of Knowle — without making a sound.

    Freaky

UFO experts have been clambering to verify the sighting and are hoping to speak to more witnesses and views of the eerie episode.

Computer game writer Andy, 36, said: “It was the freakiest thing I have ever seen in my life. I was sitting in my office and saw it out of the corner of my eye.

“It was quite exciting – it sort of hovered past the houses. There was no sound. I ran downstairs and out of the garden to see where it went but I couldn’t see anything.

“My fiancee was out at the time but I’m sure other people must have seen it. It was so clear.”

Denis Plunkett, of the British Flying Saucer Bureau, based in Winterbourne, near Bristol, was unable to comment on the video but said there were ways to verify its authenticity.

Mr Plunkett, 78, said: “There are ways to sort out good from bad. Firstly they are silent, there will be no noise.

“They can also become invisible. They can go in and out of MoD radar. They can change speed, direction and height in seconds. ” …butlincat1

Here is my vid of ufos by the sun = http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RV1ZbmAqW3k = “Reported 1 2 10 – “A BRITISH stargazer has taken an amazing video of a UFO crossing the face of the sun. Malcolm Park was taking a series of photos of the huge star through a specially filtered telescope when a strange object began to drift across it. Malcolm, of South West London, said: “I was recording activity on the sun when I caught this strange encounter. It looks like an irregularly-shaped lump of rock and is clearly rotating very quickly. “I wondered if what I captured was a piece of space junk or, with the way it was tumbling, a small asteroid.” Malcolm said he had ruled out the possibility of a plane or a bird because of the strange shape and absence of any wings. Robin Scagell, vice-president of the UK’s Society for Popular Astronomy, said: “This is a fascinating observation – and a genuine unidentified flying object as no one knows for sure what it is. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/… ” ………the music is by Frank Zappa…the voices taken from the actual audio of his Congress hearing”…….b.

The image in the video looks like my UFO CGI which I created after my sighting of the Phoenix Lights UFO on March 13, 1997. Check my website for details.
