According to KUSA 9News, the NBC affiliate in Denver, a pilot flying a Cessna Citation 525 CJ1 corporate jet approximately 8,000 feet above the Denver neighborhood of Cherry Creek radioed the control tower to report that something looking like “a large remote-controlled aircraft” flew past his plane in the opposite direction. 9News reports that, “as far as investigators know, the mystery object did not show up on radar.”

Investigators are extremely concerned about this UFO because it poses a severe risk to planes in the sky.

Greg Feith, avation analyst for 9News suggests the UFO could have been a military drone, a remote-controlled airplane, or a large bird. But those are just guesses. For now, the object remains unidentified.

The witness recorded his video on the morning of Friday, May 11 in Northwest Fresno at approximately 10:45 AM. He describes the object as being in the upper atmosphere, and it remained motionless for thirty minutes while he observed it. The UFO has no identifiable shape, and simply appears to be a bright light in the sky.

Then, at approximately 8:00 PM that same day, KSEE24 photojournalist Richard Morales captured video of a similar-looking shiny object slowly moving through the sky. In this video, people in the background speculate that the object could possibly be a large mylar balloon drifting in the wind.

It is unclear if the objects in these two videos are related. According to witness testimony regarding the first video, it is unlikely that the UFO in that video is a mylar balloon because the object remained in a fixed position for thirty minutes, rather than drifting like a balloon in the second video.

The Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) analyzes data from SOHO’s camera, and the NRL explained that the April 24th UFO was simply a camera glitch caused by cosmic rays. This new UFO is similar in appearance to the object captured on April 24th. And with the similarities, it is possible that this new UFO is also a result of cosmic rays.

But an added element to this new UFO spotting has at least one person suggesting a NASA cover-up. Gizmodo UK explains, “A day after the UFO was captured, NASA shutdown the probe’s feed because it, oh so conveniently, went into ‘emergency Sun reacquisition mode.’” Fox News reported NASA’s official response to this:

SOHO went into ‘Emergency Sun Reacquisition’ mode on Friday May 4, 2012, caused by a false trigger of the Coarse Sun Pointing Attitude Anomaly Detector. We are working on the recovery of the spacecraft to normal mode.

YouTube user Rob19791 is credited with spotting the most recent solar UFO. In his video of the object, he alleges that NASA took SOHO off-line to prevent anyone else from seeing the UFOs. He suggests, “It’s too much of a coincidence I find this on the 3rd of May 2012, and they break their telescope the following day.”

Steve Pierce was just 17 when the event took place. His life changed instantly as he was thrown into a world of news reporters, skeptics, and subjected to false accusations and a polygraph test. Even after passing, those closest to him had trouble believing his story. The harassment continued, and noted UFO skeptic Philip Klass offered Pierce $10,000 to change his story and say the incident was a hoax. Pierce denied the offer. Things did not get easier for Steve. The occurrence left a continuing wake through his life, and those closest to him still would not believe the story. This would prove to be a burden on many of his relationships. Philip Klass eventually tracked down Pierce in Texas and continued to harass him to change his story, even flying to Texas at one point to meet. Steve never accepted the offer.

Since speaking at the conference, a new challenge has arose. He is again being contacted to change his story and say it was a hoax. Klass passed away in 2005, and Steve will not say whom the new offer is from. Through all of these trials, Steve has gained one very important follower, his daughter Stevie. After watching the film Fire in the Sky with her father, she has taken an interest in the subject and supports him and his story. This has given Steve encouragement to come out and give what he claims will be his last interview. In this exclusive Open Minds interview, Pierce addresses certain aspects of his story that he wants to set straight, and tells of his trials and tribulations through the entire process.

Scott Keldall and Nathaniel Stern are the men behind the “Tweets in Space” experimental art project. Mashable.com explains that “The pair plans to collect and transmit all tweets bearing the #tweetsinspace hashtag to GJ667Cc to inform extraterrestrial beings of our culture and society.” The tweets will also reportedly be archived on a website.

To achieve their goal, Keldall and Stern plan to borrow, build, or upgrade a communication system to beam the messages into space. To make this happen, the team is seeking donations through the fundraising platform RocketHub.

GJ667Cc was detected by NASA’s Kepler space telescope, and confirmed as a planet earlier this year. Scientists believe the newly discovered world to be the best candidate for a planet capable of supporting life.
