The witness was getting off the ramp at Ellsworth along I-60 on July 16, 2016, when the incident occurred.

“I noticed that a light reflected off an object with no lights on,” the witness stated.“I realized the object (silhouette) was a circular, craft-like object and was hovering in the distance.”

But the witness noticed a light on the object.

“A bright green light then started to spin on the bottom of the craft-like object – like a propulsion-type system. The lights were spinning with great speed and then it darted off directly east from where I was, so fast it left a green trail, and an aura of green light flashed in the distance, almost like it was leaving the atmosphere.”

  1. Wow…very crazy. In a populated area and no other witnesses? Yeah I would say what you saw was a drone. You know…those flying quadcopters that pretty much anyone can purchase for under $1000. This is a heavily populated area. I live near the US 60 and Idaho. Ellsworth exit there are a few areas that the State owns that people go fly these things all the time. Just about a mile south of there is a housing subdivision. To the north, another one. Come on…this is no UFO…it’s a Quadcopter.

  2. They didn’t put the time of occurrence nor was it specific of “exact” location Ryan, so just because it’s heavily populated doesn’t necessarily mean witnesses had to be present. If that’s what you base your investigative conclusions on, then you should try to look deeper into things. Not to mention, a DRONE??? Really!? I’ve seen tons of drones, I live near there and have 4 drones myself, and I’ve never heard of one “leave the atmosphere”! Strange things happen out that way, let’s not be dismissive so quickly, I believe there’s more to this story!

  3. James, you need to learn to read. They did say exact location. The witness was getting off the ramp at Ellsworth along I-60. That is an exact location.

    https://www.google.com/maps/place/33%C2%B023'10.9%22N+111%C2%B038'02.8%22W/@33.3863685,-111.6363087,17z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m5!3m4!1s0x0:0x0!8m2!3d33.386364!4d-111.63412?hl=en

Also, it doesn’t matter the time of occurrence. This is a heavily populated area. There are two large fields which use to be part of the sheep drive, but it’s no longer being used. Sometimes they put cattle in there, but not that much anymore. Kids and anyone can enter these fields and fly a drone.

At the same time, there is a large plot of State owned land that people ride dirt bikes, quads, and bike through. Easily could have been a kid, teen, or adult with a drone.

Then on the other side of the 202/60 stack right there, another large plot of land, plus more housing.

Most of these drones are fully capable of being operated within a few miles of their own home or the base location. We had a drone used for one of my clubs, and that drone went almost 2 miles away, lost signal then traveled as fast as possible back to home base.

Leave the Atmosphere? Easily explained…the guy turned the extra drone lights off. You do realize that people build their own drones these days, right? And at the same time…re-read the article…it says…almost like it was leaving the atmosphere. Notice the word almost in there. It never said that it left the atmosphere.

Here you go…..check out the second one. It talks about how to install a UFO Light kit on an AR Drone.

Remember, just because you own a few drones doesn’t make you a drone expert. Hopefully you will watch ALL the videos, look at the map provided, and then grasp reality. It was nothing more than someone playing with a drone.
