There is currently a great deal of anticipation and speculation regarding the coming date of December 21, 2012, said to be the final day of the current world age according to the ancient Mayan calendar.

...there are no legitimate ancient Mayan prophecies as such. There are plenty of spurious, new age-type prophecies alleged to be of Maya origin, but no ancient document of prophecies.
