Former Coast Guard sailor reveals encounter with ‘humanoid creature’
A former U.S. Coast Guard sailor recalls an incident with a “transparent, oval-shaped craft” that moved within 200 yards of his vessel that revealed a “humanoid pilot” before quickly disappearing, according to June 13, 2014, testimony in Case 57018 from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.
The incident occurred in late 1978 or early 1979 near Cuba on a “law enforcement Coast Guard cutter” while the witness was standing near the fantail with another sailor when the object was first seen.
“I witnessed a transparent, oval-shaped craft that cut across the back of the ship maybe 100 to 200 yards away,” the witness stated.
The witness got a good look at the craft.
“I could clearly see a frame inside the craft and the humanoid pilot as he abruptly turned to look at us.”
But the sighting was quick.
“As it glided from off to the backside to the back of the ship, in the blink of an eye it vanished. Many years later I found something online that looked exactly like the creature I witnessed.”
No images or illustrations were included with the MUFON report. MUFON International is investigating.
I can shed a little more light on this incident. In late 1978 and early 1979 I was serving as a CIA liaison to the US Navy, aboard a submarine that was tasked with patrolling the Caribbean, looking for the entrances to a secret UFO base code named Atlantis, which our remote viewers had located in the region. This coast guardsman’s description dovetailed nicely with our intelligence and we moved promptly to interview the witness.
He described the humanoid as being covered with brown fur and exhibiting a deep musky odor which overpowered him, despite the distance of the UFO from the vessel. I believed that to be a psychic phenomenon related to the Momo sightings that were quite common in the Southern states around that time.
We never did find the Atlantis base location, but we had numerous sonar and visual sightings of these transparent orbs, piloted by hairy humanoids, smooth gray dwarves, and on at least one occasion, by Philip J. Klass.
Will someone please post Robert Bigelow’s phone number here, so that we can all call him and demand the release of the illustration associated with the description of the alien provided by this witness?

So … color me confused … is there some kind of mistake within MUFON regarding Case # 57018?
The version of 57018 described in the email just sent out by MUFON (and reproduced here: http://pulphermit.blogspot.com/2014/06/mufon.html) contradicts the version described in Roger Marsh’s article above.
Both accounts occur on the coasts “near” the Gulf of Mexico and involve former military (Marine in one / Coast Guard in another) but one is allegedly from 2008 and the other from 1978/1979.
What’s up with that?

Turns out the MUFON email had the wrong case #. It should have read Case 54003.

Sounds like a bunch of “mis-information” is being passed around to redirect. Folks, I know there are many out there that mock us for our beliefs, However, what they now fail to realize is that THEY are the minority now. What we need is to put someone (that shares our beliefs and commitment to the truth) in a position of power and in the “know”. Not Ex CIA or FBI, or even retired NASA employees, but someone that can be developed and placed in those positions that will gain access to the information that needs to come out.
If our enemies can breach our government and security agencies, why can’t we do the same. Everyone has an agenda, lets put our collective efforts to good use that will benefit and justify our cause.
I’m tired of these investigations that get shut down after they get “So Far”. We need a representative for the believers or the truth.
No more waiting for “Declassified” files (that are edited by those keeping the secrets). We need someone with some power and access. WE need to back this person financially and with our votes.
We need a representative that will lead our cause for truth.
Washington needs to feel our pressure to become more transparent when it comes to alien contact and what information is being kept from the world public.
Why do only a few have the power to decide what should be known to all?

I had a very similar (or perhaps the same ?) experience in 77 or 78 off Cuba when we were towing electronic buoys on board USCGC Acushnet. Would love it if some other guys from that incident would come forward. Come on, Guys, you know what I’m talking about.
I’m in the Canadian Forces and when I was in the Bermuda Triangle I saw a red/orange orb flying above the water at night, I was on a family cruise and wondered if anyone else saw it but apparently not everyone was drunk or busy, I wasn’t drunk if you’re wondering, i served in Afghanistan saw some pretty weird stuff but what I saw that night was not man made it was alien.
