On several occasions in 1975, Yugoslav Air Force jets saw a strange multi-colored glowing orb, but every time they tried to investigate, it would outrun their jet fighters. Finally, after failed attempts to get a closer look, and facing ridicule for reporting the incidents, they chose to ignore it.

In 2006, former Arizona governor Fife Symington admitted to being a witness to Arizona’s most famous UFO sighting, and that he believed it to be of extraterrestrial origins. His statements made worldwide news. In association with the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Phoenix Lights UFO event, James Fox, the documentarian that first obtained Symington’s confession shared never before seen footage from the interview during his presentation at the 2016 International UFO Congress. The UFO files of the U.S. Forest Service (USFS) have been declassified. There are 20 pages in the files, and although there is a dubious claim about the construction of a secret alien base and an unconvincing UFO photo, there is an interesting UFO report from U.S. Air Force personnel at a radar station in Montana.

A former security officer at the Cooper Nuclear Station near Brownville, Nebraska reported seeing a UFO over the plant sometime in the late 80s. The report was found in documents recently declassified as a result of a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) for UFO files.

Jimmy Kimmel is at it again, this time with former POTUS George Bush. Kimmel has a habit of asking presidents - and a presidential candidate -what they know about UFOs and the government's secret files. Bush was on the hot seat last week, and his answers might make some scratch their heads.

One of the big stories during the election was the release of leaked emails by WikiLeaks of the alleged emails of Hillary Clinton's campaign manager, John Podesta. Among these emails were the behind the scenes organizing of Hillary's appearances on Jimmy Kimmel Live! On her latest appearance on the program, she discussed UFOs, and apparently, her staffers used an OpenMinds.tv article as background regarding Bill Clinton's prior UFO comments.

The claims of a security police officer, who says he witnessed a famous UFO sighting while in the U.S. Air Force (USAF) in 1980, are being called into question by Charles Halt, the deputy base commander at the time. Halt wrote an official memo that made it into the public outlining the events of two UFO sightings in late December, 1980. The second sighting Halt witnessed himself. However, he says he has spoken to the supervisor of the USAF police officer, and this new witness was not in the places he claims to have been on the nights of the UFO events.

Looking more closely at the UFO emails, it is not just shocking that these men attended a meeting about UFOs, but, apparently, one of the USAF generals has been advising DeLonge on his project to reveal the government has back engineered alien technology. DeLonge has even implied that the general told him the U.S. had found an alien body.

Regardless of whether one believes the UFO phenomenon is real or not, what is clear from the Air Force's own records is that they have taken at least a hand full of UFO reports seriously since 1969, despite claims to the contrary, and they do not seem to feel obligated to share this information with the public. We at Open Minds feel differently.

The recent WikiLeaks of Hillary Clinton's campaign manager, John Podesta's, emails have upset and embarrassed her campaign. It has also brought media focus on Podesta's interest in UFOs, and one of the most intriguing string of emails reveals a Google Hangout meeting that took place between rocker Tom DeLonge, a couple of USAF generals, and an executive of Lockheed Martin's Skunk Works division. Skunk Works is the group that worked with the CIA to build Area 51, and still develops advance, top-secret, air craft there to this day.

In early December, 2008, I received an email from a gentleman by the name of Malcolm Williams. Mr. Williams had been a career officer in the Royal Air Force (RAF) and his rank was Flight Lieutenant.

Recently, the British Ministry of Defence (MoD), in cooperation with The National Archives (TNA), explained that the release of 18 still closed UFO-files of the MoD will not happen before early 2017. Now, Grenzwissenschaft-Aktuell (GreWi), the German news-blog on frontier science and the paranormal, has discovered why the release of these files needs more time.

More hacked emails from the democratic party were releases by WikiLeaks in the last few days, in particular, the emails of Hillary Clinton's campaign manager, John Podesta. Podesta is a name that is often attached to the UFO issue, because he has made it no secret that he has a an interest in the topic. So it should come as no surprise that among the thousands of leaked emails, a few reference UFOs and extraterrestrials.

UFO sightings over Washington, DC in July 1952 made worldwide headlines and left the U.S. Air Force dazed and confused. The events spanned several days and included multiple radar identifications of unknown aircraft, some of which were correlated by witnesses on the ground. Many of the sightings caused the air force to scramble jet fighters, and in each of these cases, the UFOs outmaneuvered the jets. This all culminated into what may be the most important official U.S. Air Force UFO investigation of all time.

One of the first multiple-witness sighting cases investigated by the U.S. Air Force's Project Blue Book, and determined to be an “unknown,” began with sightings by police officers in Oregon and Washington on July 4, 1947.

The U.S. Air Force's (USAF) official investigation into UFOs ended in 1969, and since then, the military has claimed they have no interest in the topic, nor do they investigate UFOs. However, through the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), investigators have uncovered several documents that would indicate UFOs have been of interest, and that the most important files were most likely never made public.

While searching for the Federal Aviation administration's (FAA) UFO files, a researcher using the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), recently received the FAA's procedures for taking UFO reports.

A man who spent 20 years working in national security for the federal government has recently joined a group of scientist searching for evidence of UFOs. In a recent interview, he says he has been interested in the topic since childhood, and in all his time in the government, he has found no evidence of a cover-up. That includes Area 51, which he has visited in an official capacity.

Two former military radar technicians have come forward to say a UFO was caught on radar and seen from the control tower of a U.S. military base in the U.K. that housed nuclear weapons. They make these claims in a new documentary called UFOs and Nukes: The Secret Link Revealed.

In a speech last week at Norwich University, General Mark A. Milley, Chief of Staff for the U.S. Army, told the audience, many of whom were ROTC cadets, that in the future the cadets will be dealing with, among other things, "hybrid armies" and "little green men." Some UFOers have assumed this to be an admission that armies of aliens and their alien/human hybrids are threatening the Earth. However, both of those are military terms that mean something entirely different.
