Vancouver sky watcher records UFOs on video

The Vancouver Sun newspaper has posted the video of a resident sky watcher in Vancouver who recorded a few UFOs recently using night vision equipment.

Charles Lamoureux is a registered nurse and amateur astronomer. He told UFO AM that he was skeptic of UFOs until one evening he saw something shoot across the night sky while he was looking at the moon with his telescope. Ever since he has been using night vision equipment to hunt for UFOs and says he has recorded some very interesting objects.

In the video featured on The Vancouver Sun, there is an object moving steadily across the sky. Lamoureux can be heard saying he doesn’t believe it is a satellite because it appears to be tumbling. At one point a shooting star can be seen streaking by near the object. As the first object leave the field of view, another more dimly lit object can be seen also moving steadily by.

Some have suggested these might be satellites, but Lemoureux has replied that in their full resolution you can see more movement, but that much of this is lost in the transfer to YouTube. He says the night vision equipment he is using is a Yukon Night Ranger NV monocular.

Lamoureux’s videos have been featured in news stories before. In January of this year he was interviewed by Canada’s CTV news.

Is Lamoureux capturing ET space craft, or something more mundane? Let us know what you think below.

Update: Lamoureux has posted a video with a close-up shot on the object so you can see the “tumbling” effect more clearly.

  2. Amazing movement! I have yet to see this type of craft with pulsating lights! very cool!

  3. Satellites don’t act like this. In fact, they don’t act at all. By definition, these are UFOs, unidentified flying objects. We can only speculate what they might be. But speculation alone comes based on what we know to be true. And what we know to be true, is this: that their behavior is, and I am reluctant to say it, ‘intelligible’. Th objects act like bacteria, freely motile in liquid. This tells me they, whatever they are, are up to something; something innocent, like bacteria. Nonetheless, they are intelligible, which means some type of life form is on display in the skies, whether backed by such a one, or one in itself. Time will tell.

  4. Airplanes don’t strobe? Really? There is actually no set strobe frequency for airplanes and many high altitude one will strobe slowly just like this, but that’s not what this is. This is more than likely a satellite despite the claims of the man. Many satellites spin or tumble in space and our concept of satellites sitting perfectly aimed at the planet is flawed as only a few types are forced to perform like this. The strobe effect is created by the reflection from the sun hitting the surface at high altitude. All he really has to do is take the time, date, and location and direction of this object and look it up in satellite reference websites to confirm/deny his theory. Speculation is not the way to validate things. Yes it is a “UFO” by definition, but the general thought of UFO is of an extraterrestrial origin, which this is more than likely not.

  5. Hi Brian,

Thanks for your comment on the object I captured on video. I just wanted to clarify a couple of things, when i mentioned planes don’t do that, I was referencing to light noticed through my night vision monocular, I did mention this in the video but it was not clear I agree. Also I did use a satellite reference site and I could not find any object in the vicinity at that time and placement in the sky but I may have missed one or it was not referenced. I view all planes, helicopters day and night from my place and hundreds of satellites, so this will be my first should it be a satellite and it could very well be, I have an open mind and if so, great I know what it is now…I added a clip of this event on my channel and doubled the speed and the object can clearly be seen wobbling or spinning reason for the pulsation and unlikely from iridium flare, or reflection from the sun, but I don’t have the answers, this was the only reason I uploaded to try to get answers and thanks for OpenMinds to post this article.
    Thank you.

  6. Not anywhere posted is exactly where Vancover is. There is a Vancover in the State of Washington which is not far from me, but lots of states have a Vancover. Washington also has a base under Mt. Adams. So why not say Vancover ———- Where???
