UFO video of mysterious blue orb seen in Australia surfaces

More witnesses and a video of an object fitting the description of the recent UFO sighting in the Newcastle area of Australia have surfaced.

Earlier this week we covered the story of a UFO sighting in Belmont, a suburb of Newcastle, Australia. Richard and Tina Hardy said they had seen a bright blue glowing light. They photographed the object and got an image of a bank of white lights. They reported the sighting to the Newscastle Herald, saying:

At first I thought it was a flare, it was such a solid glowing blue.

It came in from the north-west then slowly descended, and then it changed quickly from blue to red. Then it shot straight up for a couple of seconds and my wife reached for her [iPhone 4S] phone camera and it changed back to blue then shot over towards the south-west.

I rang my son who was at home on the other side of the highway and he saw it go blue then red then blue again and eventually disappear way over the other side of the lake towards Dora Creek or Toronto.

Today the Newcastle Herald posted a video (seen above) uploaded to YouTube by a Belmont family of a UFO fitting the Hardy’s description. The video was captured on September 30 of this year, and uploaded on October 1.

The description provided by the YouTube account owner Tom Burxton says:

Filmed the other night off the veranda, completely silent fast moving UFO with bright blue light, changes to red for second, enters from right of screen before I start filming, hovers over blacksmiths/redhead beach then exits at speed again. Has been there 2-3 nights in the past couple of weeks, any ideas?

In the video you can hear someone saying that although the light is blue it had turned red earlier. This is what the Hardy’s described, as well as a witness who works as a journalist for the Herald.

According to the Herald, some have suggested that the object was an airplane or Venus. However, they point out that Venus does not move across the sky at the rate of speed seen in the video.

An OpenMinds.tv reader from the area posted his wife’s sighting from this area earlier this year in response to our first story on this sighting. He writes:

In May this year my wife described a similar object in nearly the same location (caves beach). She was driving and saw a bright light approaching, stopped the car and it passed overhead at about 500 feet, no noise and had the same bank of white lights. We figured it was a military drone but it didn’t make sense to have a powerful array of lights on a drone.

The Herald also conducted a UFO poll with their first story. 1450 readers responded, 25.9% of which said they had also seen a UFO. 41.9% of the Herald readers said the believed there was other life “out there.” Only 14% said they did not believe in UFOs, and 18.3% said they were not convinced either way.

Newcastle is apparently becoming a UFO spot in Australia. Repeated sightings of a similar object are rare. Hopefully, if there are more sightings, there will also be more videos so that more can be discovered about the nature of the mysterious UFO.
