According to La Voz de la frontera, police received hundreds of calls about a strange device in the air. The UFO was seen in the area of the Mexicali airport, and was described by witnesses as a round object emitting white light. Witnesses also reported seeing blue and yellow flashing lights on the object.

One of the police officers who pursued the object explained that the UFO moved at very fast speeds, moving up, down, and sideways, and would suddenly change its course.

The website i09 suggests that a UFO recorded on video over Tijuana, Mexico on January 27 could be the same UFO that “taunted police” in Mexicali last week, but that is simply speculation.

According to the Daily Telegraph, the video shows “a bright light crossing the moon and then mysteriously breaking into two pieces – heading in different directions.” Several witnesses in other parts of Australia reported seeing similar UFOs on previous days.

The witness uploaded the video to YouTube with the following description:

Filmed in Cooloongup. One orb and another appears next to it! Filmed in the south east using a yukon Spirit Night Vision attached to a JVC Everio. Monocular was kinda out of focus a bit. To focus the whole thing I need to twist the front barrel of the scope and the back eye piece and then adjust the cameras manual focus with tele-macro.

While objects like the two that appear in this video are commonly captured with night-vision cameras, some are suggesting that this particular video is fake, because the second object appears out of nowhere.

UFOs caught on video over Russia (L) and Mexico (R).

On December 23, witnesses in the Russian town of Trekhgorny (near Khazakstan) saw a mysterious object in the sky. Multiple witnesses recorded the object on video. What appears in these videos is described by the Huffington Post UK as “a silver object in the centre of a cloudy orb, travelling at some speed.”

Although the UFO appears quite alien, its origin is likely Earthly. As the Huffington Post UK points out, some believe the object captured on video is related to the failed Russian Meridian satellite launch that occurred the same day as the sightings. The Soyuz-2.1b rocket that was carrying the Meridian-5 communications satellite failed seven minutes into its December 23 flight, according to the BBC, and debris came crashing back to Earth.

The failed launch theory is further supported by a video posted online by UFO hunter Sheilaaliens. While researching this UFO sighting, she discovered photos from a Russian photographer who photographed the launch of the rocket, as well as the rocket’s failure. His photos of the failed rocket returning to Earth show the identical object that is seen in the UFO videos.

Another glowing orb UFO appeared in Tijuana, Mexico on December 25. As Gather News reports, “The witness describes the UFO on the YouTube page as an ‘orb’ and a ‘Mother Ship’ which somehow survives what looks like an explosion. It manages to stay aloft, stay brightly lit, hover and maintain a relationship to the ‘orbs’ dispersed from its central mass.”

The video footage of this UFO exploding is pretty incredible. I thought it was fascinating, and I didn’t quite know what to make of it. But after discussing the video with my friend and colleague Alejandro Rojas, I now share his opinion that the video shows a popping balloon. This theory is supported by a video of a bursting weather balloon posted by user jaws1975 on the AboveTopSecret.com website in a discussion forum thread about the Tijuana video. The bursting balloon produces a similar effect as the exploding “mother ship.”

Although the objects in the Mexico and Russia videos could be something more mysterious (possibly extraterrestrial), the theories presented in this article are plausible, even probable, identifications.

The Trekhgorny and the Tijuana videos are two of the most fascinating videos I have seen this year. They round out 2011, a year filled with incredible UFO footage and UFO stories. I am excited to see the many exciting photos, videos, and witness accounts that are sure to surface in 2012.

He explains, “Well, being among those tens of thousands of ‘confused onlookers,’ the only kind of debate I can recall in regards to the ‘object’ was whether it was the police monitoring the security situation on the scene of mass protests through a drone camera or journalists taking aerial photos for their reports (or broadcasts).”

The witness described the object as “a black triangle with white lights at each end.” The UFO reportedly flew at a low altitude, and moved silently through the air. Nock believes the UFO could be an experimental military craft.

UFO hovering over Moscow

Hundreds of pro-democracy protesters in Moscow’s Bolotnaya Square reportedly witnessed a UFO in the sky above them on Saturday. According to the Telegraph, the silent object was “clearly not a helicopter,” and was described as having pulsating colored lights, and had “five extended tendrils or pylons emanating from the body of the vehicle.”

The crowd of people protesting against recent presidential election results allegedly climbed trees to better observe the UFO that seemed to be observing the 25,000 protestors.

The strange craft remains unidentified, but many speculate that the UFO is simply a military/police drone. The use of drones by police departments around the world to easily monitor crowds of people is increasing. And, in this case, a mob of 25,000 protesters would be an ideal situation in which the use of a drone would be advantageous to authorities.

Some believe the CME blast revealed a cloaked UFO near the planet, but to get an “official” answer, MSNBC contacted scientists in the solar physics branch at the United States Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) who are responsible for analyzing data from the telescope camera that shot the December 1 footage. MSNBC reports that, according to Russ Howard, head scientist of the NRL group, and Nathan Rich, lead ground systems engineer, “it is simply an artifact left over from the way raw HI-1 telescope data gets processed.”

The image processing is explained in detail by MSNBC:

To make the relatively faint glow of a coronal mass ejection stand out against the bright glare of space — caused by interplanetary dust and the stellar/galactic background — the NRL scientists must remove as much background light as possible. They explained that they determine what light is background light, and thus can be subtracted out, by calculating the average amount of light that entered each camera pixel on the day of the CME event and on the previous day. Light appearing in the pixels on both days is considered to be background light and is removed from the footage of the CME. The remaining light is then enhanced.

Rich further explained, “When (this averaging process) is done between the previous day and the current day and there is a feature like a planet, this introduces dark (negative) artifacts in the background where the planet was on the previous day, which then show up as bright areas in the enhanced image.”

According to Gizmodo, this particular video shows a 24 hour period captured on December 1, and consists of 36 frames in total. The strange object was also recorded by Stereo’s twin satellite HI-2.

NASA and other scientists have used ghost images and image glitches to explain mysterious objects in space videos before. And that could certainly be the case with these new videos. But, as Gizmodo asks, “[I]f it’s a ghost image, why does it end so abruptly? How is it so well delimited? Why does it look like a spaceship?”

Ripon Police Chief Dave Lukoski claims he witnessed the event, but that it was a military jet. He described, “There was a screaming jet going over us.” Green Lake County Chief Deputy Mark Putzke said that there were no reports of UFOs in his jurisdiction that night, and representatives from the Wisconsin Air National Guard claim the Guard was flying missions over Ripon at the approximate time of the sighting on November 16.

But a video, supposedly of the same event, shows hovering lights in the sky fading out, then turning on again. The object(s) in the video don’t appear to be “screaming” military jets. So while the military has taken credit for the incident, this video doesn’t appear to support their story.

According to the Sun, Yegorovnam claims she heard a loud noise outside her home. She rushed outside to find “flaming wreckage and crumpled metal” from a crashed UFO. The extraterrestrial victim of this crash was allegedly nearby. Her reaction was to wrap the strange creature in plastic, and place it in her fridge.

The Daily Mail describes, “The ‘creature’ is two feet long, has an enormous head, large bulbous eyes and an appearance somewhere between a fish and a humanoid. It also appears to have what looks like a string-like arm protruding from its body.” This Jabba-the-Hutt-like appearance is just one element to this story that has many suspecting a hoax. The Sun reports, “People who have seen pictures of the ‘alien’ have likened it to Jabba The Hutt from the Star Wars films and Slimer from Ghostbusters . . . Others have claimed the bizarre find is simply a rotting vegetable, which looks remarkably other-worldly.”

Also odd is the fact that Yegorovnam waited two years to tell anyone about the body in her fridge. She claims that, when she found the supposed extraterrestrial, it was wearing a spacesuit. It’s unknown if she still has this spacesuit that she apparently removed before chilling the little guy.

The corpse has also disappeared, creating yet another problem with this story. The Sun states that the Karelian Academy of Science in Petrozavodsk is investigating this case. However, according to a video that surfaced on November 5, two men who claimed they were from the Karelian Academy of Science confiscated the corpse. But also according to this video, employees at the Karelian Academy of Science were contacted about the extraterrestrial body, but those employees denied knowing anything about it.

Another element to this story that leads some to suspect a hoax is the involvement of paranormal writer Michael Cohen of the website allnewsweb.com. The Daily Mail reports that “the footage was unearthed” by Cohen. Cohen is infamous for his repeated support of hoaxes and other cases where there is no supporting evidence but his own. With regards to this story, Cohen stated, “This could be an elaborate hoax, however the possibility that this might be a genuine alien should not be discounted.”

Cohen did make a good point though, stating that “in all likelihood most alien beings would look strange to us . . .” However, the multiple suspicious elements with this story make it unlikely that the “corpse” in these photos is a genuine extraterrestrial. But until definitive proof surfaces, anything is possible.
