Matveev was in the mob of protesters, and saw the drone for himself. He explains, “Well, being among those tens of thousands of ‘confused onlookers,’ the only kind of debate I can recall in regards to the ‘object’ was whether it was the police monitoring the security situation on the scene of mass protests through a drone camera or journalists taking aerial photos for their reports (or broadcasts).”

According to Matveev, the camera drone belongs to the Ridus news agency, an independent community of “civilian journalists.”

UFO hovering over Moscow

Hundreds of pro-democracy protesters in Moscow’s Bolotnaya Square reportedly witnessed a UFO in the sky above them on Saturday. According to the Telegraph, the silent object was “clearly not a helicopter,” and was described as having pulsating colored lights, and had “five extended tendrils or pylons emanating from the body of the vehicle.”

The crowd of people protesting against recent presidential election results allegedly climbed trees to better observe the UFO that seemed to be observing the 25,000 protestors.

The strange craft remains unidentified, but many speculate that the UFO is simply a military/police drone. The use of drones by police departments around the world to easily monitor crowds of people is increasing. And, in this case, a mob of 25,000 protesters would be an ideal situation in which the use of a drone would be advantageous to authorities.

On January 20th, 2010, a large, disc-shaped cloud was videotaped over Indonesia. The formation appeared to be illuminated, and was positioned over a thick bed of clouds. An explanation formulated by meteorologists for this event was sunlight shining through a very high thundercloud.

Another disc-shaped cloud formation, outlined with an illuminated ring, was captured on video in the skies above Romania in October of 2009. Some witnesses described the cloud formation as resembling a craft. Again, meteorologists have formulated an explanation for this odd occurrence, calling the formation a fallstreak hole.

What is a fallstreak hole?

Sometimes, a lack of ice nucleation particles slows the freezing process of water in clouds where the temperature is below freezing. When this water does start to freeze, the water vapor around it freezes too, and begins falling to the earth. The often circular hole left in the cloud is known as a fallstreak hole.

Meteorologists have also used lenticular clouds to explain other UFO sightings. Lenticular clouds are high-altitude clouds that have a lens shape, and a smooth, saucer-like appearance. Some amazing examples can be seen here.

Another unusual cloud formation, referred to by the British tabloid The Sun as a “Mystery UFO Halo,” was observed over Moscow in October of 2009. This incident was also explained by meteorologists as a fallstreak hole. But not all meteorologists agree. Moscow’s weather bureau called the event an optical effect caused by sun shining through the clouds.

So what is the real explanation for these mysterious cloud formations? Meteorologists point to natural occurring weather behavior like fallstreak holes. But fallstreak holes rarely occur, so, have weather changes simply caused them to become more common now, or is there another explanation?

Could these objects have extra-terrestrial origins?

The photos and videos from the recent sightings don’t provide enough evidence to definitively determine the true nature of the abstruse objects, but they are certainly more than enough to fuel intrigue and extra-terrestrial speculation.

A photograph was recently published to the web, showing a “light stick” in the sky over Moscow. Some believe these objects to be UFOs (the Moscow photo was snapped on December 21. Ooooo.), while others believe them to be living creatures. For everything you ever wanted to know about these things, filmmaker Jose Escamilla has done considerable research on the “light stick” phenomenon, or as he calls them, “rods.” Check out one of his videos some time.

Rods have been seen all over the world. One was even seen during a Fox newscast where a stationary night-vision camera was rolling in Bagdad.

Rods were featured on the History Channel’s MonsterQuest, but the show basically debunked rod theories, stating that rods are probably just bugs.

Regardless of what MonsterQuest or anyone else says, I’m certainly confident that there are plenty of life forms, both in space and right here on Earth, that we have never seen, and possibly some that we are incapable of seeing with our human eyes.

Entrances and exits for UFO highways are apparently at various locations around the globe. Some claim the mysterious halo phenomenon that appeared over Moscow in October was actually an active UFO highway exit.

You’ve probably heard about UFO highways before, and if not referred to as a “highway,” you’ve possibly heard the terms “vortex,” “star gate,” or “wormholes.” In theory, these serve as entrances and exits to/from highways, allowing alien vessels to travel epic distances through the galaxy/galaxies.

Many fascinating questions arise when applying Earth’s concept of highway travel to space navigation. Do UFO highways have speed limits? If so, how are they enforced? Photo radar? Highway patrol? Are carpool lanes available on a UFO highway? Are “Adopt-a-Highway” programs being utilized to maintain a safe and garbage-free highway on these galactic highways?

Star Trek taught me that it’s probably not a good idea to go shooting weapons inside a wormhole, so I’m sure road rage on a UFO highway gets pretty messy . . .
