Pop singer Rihanna will be fighting hostile extraterrestrials in the upcoming Hollywood blockbuster film Battleship. Although this movie will be her big-screen debut, Rihanna is no novice when it comes to watching for UFOs and extraterrestrials.

As a child in Barbados, Rihanna reportedly spent considerable time on her family’s porch, searching the night sky for UFOs. According to the Sun, the singer recently stated, “My dad used to make me sit outside on the steps all night long looking for UFOs flying by, and I had to do that for years.” In her years of sky watching, Rihanna claims she saw a shooting star, but no UFOs.

Battleship opens in theaters on April 11.
