This was pretty interesting and informative.
I heard that some presidents were interested in the UFOs. If the US Government knows something about the UFOS, I wonder why the Government has not yet come out with the information or revealed it to the Presidents (referring to Clinton's UFO speech in Hong Kong).

Budd Hopkins' autobiography is sad, but "must" reading!

Leslie Kean's relatively recent appearance at the arm of elderly artist and famed UFO/ET abduction researcher and author, Elliot Budd Hopkins, is of significance to what you are discussing here, Alejandro.

Budd's autobiography, "Art, Life and UFOs: A Memoir," is required "UFOlogy" reading (Anomalist Books, 2009. ISBN 1933665416. Paperback. www.anomalistbooks.com).

Oddly, some of Budd's recollections reflected in his narrative do not square with previously reported facts, including how Budd met the late Dr. John Mack, as well as Budd's fuller involvement with the late Laurance S. Rockefeller (whose name he misspells, as well as the name of murdered civil rights activist Medgar Evers, in another context).

Whether the Rockefeller errors are editing anomalies or intentional blurrings of Budd's centrality to much of what happened "UFOlogically" in the 1980s and 1990s is yet another "UFO mystery." But the overall memoir is of importance even for the differences between Budd's story and, to be diplomatic, "consensus reality" and history.

Although it is a fascinating and illuminating read about this nice man and his complicated efforts to express his creative urges, readers looking for "UFO revelations" will find few. And some Budd does include are distorted; whether by shaded memory or shady revisionism is unclear.

But Budd's recollections and "this is my story and I'm sticking to it" apparent edits to his history, if he is solely responsible, contribute to his legacy as both an enigma and an affable "UFO personality" who now seems to be firmly under the control of a bizarre but all-too-familiar "intelligence community deathwatch," where guys like Hopkins, the late Timothy Leary and the late John Lilly are "befriended" by nice ladies who somehow seize control of their files and their legacies when they die.

Budd's recollections of his home town, Wheeling, West Virginia -- one of a number of coincidences he and I share, although he "landed" in Wheeling sixteen years before my own advent -- are quite obviously shaped by his later-in-life leftist leanings, perhaps painted in the pastels of retroactive rationale rubbing off on Budd during his "Life as art" in Manhattan and on Cape Cod.

I knew and continue to know Budd's extended family, a nicer, more intelligent and caring group of folks one will not meet. Thus, Budd's persistent bashing of his father for apparent cultural biases characteristic of the senior Hopkins' era felt to me like Cape Cod and Manhattan cocktail party rationalizations meant for an audience to whom Budd catered: for "art marketing?"

It adds to the mystery that, in an early 1990s article, a controversial "mind control" commentator accused Budd and John Mack of being "CIA assets" working on a project funded by "Rockefellers" called the Institute for the Study of Human Ecology, allegedly a funding conduit for a series of illicit psychiatric experiments in Canada and other locales, which John Mack denied to me in 1993.

Unexplained other than by a facile dismissal of her by Hopkins is what really happened to one short-term wife, Carol Rainey, with whom Budd authored perhaps his most interesting, insightful book: "Sight Unseen: Science, UFO Invisibility and Transgenic Beings," published by Pocket Books in 2004. (ISBN 0743412192). Carol is just "gone."

That Mr. Hopkins' current handler (and as Budd puts it, "life partner") is Ms. Leslie Kean is significant, as even a cursory Googling will suggest. Kean's role in the sanitizing of Budd's recollections is indiscernible, but what ol' Budd is "forgetting" conveniently dovetails nicely into retail UFOlogy's most recent shape shifting to erstwhile competing and combative "ET/UFO disclosure" movements, collaborating in their faux attacks on the US intelligence community while abjectly ignoring obvious answers to various "UFO mysteries" which do not fit the apparent globalist mind-bend strategies underlying the purpose of many of our oligarch-fueled "ET advo-zealots."

Laurance Rockefeller, whatever else he may have been, was not simply a "naive" if not yet doddering aging UFO billionaire, idealistically approaching President Clinton, as Budd's revision of history suggests. Nor has Budd's whitewash of his intense battles with others in the UFOlogy field, both known and "unknown men," had an effect other than to mire Hopkins' legacy in controversy.

Whoever Leslie Kean really "is," (and it all depends on what the meaning of "is" is), that she now has control of Budd Hopkins and his immensely interesting files will shape his legacy far beyond Budd's own recollections in his memoir, distorting future understanding of his work.

Ah, Budd boy! We hardly knew ye! And that is truly sad.

Rockefeller, via the nonprofit Human Potential Foundation, chaired by then US Senator Claiborne I. Pell. Farley's role is outlined at Grant Cameron's www.presidentialufo.com site. Farley also is Washington Correspondent for Cape Cod Today (online)at www.capecodtoday.com, where his "Washington Window" has his story about Edgar Mitchell's latest call for "UFO Disclosure," as picked up and linked "planet-wide."

Very interesting connections. It's good to see open minds regarding the UFO phenomena also be open about the Obama administration. (As Jacques Vallee points out, the right-wing of UFO gossipers and pseudo-researchers' anti-Obama-and-world-order rants brings a bad light and disservice to true UFO researchers.)
