Nat Geo continues exploring the UFO topic

National Geographic (Nat Geo), like most cable networks, has repeatedly featured UFO-related programming. And, based on one of their upcoming shows, it doesn’t appear that the network plans to get out of the UFO business anytime soon.

Invasion Earth is Nat Geo’s latest stab at UFO programming. The network’s description of the series states:

Have humans really seen crafts and beings from other planets? Or is there a perfectly reasonable explanation for these sightings? Invasion Earth investigates the world’s most intriguing UFO sightings to answer the age old question – are we alone? With the help of scientists, aviation and military experts, all the evidence is thoroughly examined and tested.

This series is airing under a few different names in different parts of the world. Its title in the UK is UFO: Alien Invasion, its U.S. title is UFO Conspiracies, and it is in other locations, including Australia, where the series is being broadcast with its native titled Invasion Earth. The show is produced by London-based Pioneer Productions for National Geographic.

This series explores several UFO cases familiar to UFO researchers including the 1980 Cash-Landrum UFO encounter and the 1965 Kecksburg UFO incident. Nat Geo’s Australia website has a full episode list detailing what will be explored in each episode of the series.

  1. Please keep the UFO subject in the forefront of programming….my sister n I have seen something 2 xmas eve’s in a row. We have wanted to report but are worried of being thought of as odd. We know that what we have seen simply doesn’t exist here…..there isn’t a day that goes by we don’t talk about it. Please keep the programs fresh. We need to beleve that we r going to live in the age that sightings r as normal a sight as a passenger plane. We would very much like to speak to someone about what we have seen. They exist they r here n we know. We should never b afraid too tell someone for fear of ridicule.

  2. Asking the question: have we seen info’s? GIve me a break. We are so far past this ridiculous question. Another smooth debunking pile of junk show.

  3. “…We have wanted to report but are worried of being thought of as odd…”

The post above illustrates one of two main problems hampering UFO research. The first is Cowardice and the second is Debunking.

When I saw my first UFOs at age 74, I made a report, printed it and distributed it to all my neighbors. To hell with what people think. Tell the truth!

  4. As Fox Mulder said “I want to Believe” But what they are, where they’re from is a big question mark. Are they they biological’s from other star systems, are they AIs, are they from alternate reality’s, other dimensions etc?

  5. I saw the programme. Just a debunking exercise by the makers, in my opinion. For example they basically said the 1952 Washington DC incident was temperature inversion and people’s imagination. Which coincidentally was the official explanation back in the day.
Of course Nick Pope was there again, sitting on the fence as usual.
I will see if the series improves but I somehow doubt that it will.

  6. Under hypnosis you can create blisters and pain as if you were burned. Autism can produce a mathematician capable of computer like calculations. Adrenaline has given humans super human strength. Edgar Casey said things that to this day can not be explained. I have had hallucinations that I knew were such but never the less were astounding. If UFOs are any or all of the above, which means they exist in the eye of the beholder(s) brain. Who is to say what is real because all is perceived through the lens of the brain. Don’t be so quick to judge or dismiss,……… study, learn.
